Reasons Behind False Child Birth With Certain Females

When a woman who is old enough to have kids thinks she is pregnant, has the signs of being pregnant, and even experiences changes to her body that come as a result of pregnancy, but is not in fact pregnant, she is suffering from an ailment called Pseudocyesis, also called pseudo-pregnancy.
Several signs of being pregnant are present with a pseudo-pregnancy, and the most prevalent are sore breasts, lack of a period, nausea and vomiting, and stomach expansion.
Not getting a period is usually the sign that triggers this condition, but if you are not diligent about tracking your normal cycle, missing a period is not uncommon. However, a pseudo-pregnancy often occurs due to the female's extreme desire to become pregnant, or the female's extreme fear of becoming pregnant when she doesn't want to be.
When the breasts become tender to the touch, you could be getting your period; however, a female with psuedocyesis is going to think this discomfort is due to being pregnant. Nausea and vomiting are typically the result of hormones being out of balance, which can also lead to your period being late, but mostly, they are indicative of the first trimester of pregnancy.
Certain females who go through a pseudo-pregnancy, might even see their stomach region get bigger. However, this increase in size is probably a result of eating too much because she thinks she is pregnant, of retaining excess water in advance of a period, or the accumulation of gas because of extreme anxiousness and stress.
Pseudocyesis happens most often to females who have miscarried or have had a child die. Older females in their 30's and 40's are more typically the victims of pseudo-pregnancies because they are not conceiving as they wish, or they are experiencing issues with infertility. Researchers believe that emotional trauma is usually the main cause of pseudo-pregnancies.
A female who strongly wishes to get pregnant, or the reverse, one who is extremely scared of getting pregnant develops inner turmoil which then causes the endocrine system to get out of balance and is directly responsible for changing the period cycle.
If you want to find out for sure whether or not you are pregnant so you can be free from stress, take a pregnancy test in your home. Even better, talk to your OBGYN doctor to determine exactly what is going on with your body as you experience these symptoms.
