7 Hints to Aid in Great Health During Pregnancy

It is of utmost importance that expectant mums strive for great health during pregnancy. It is no small thing for you to nurture and develop a new life inside of you and bring a child into this world. It must be understood that it is choices that you make during this time that affect your child's growth and development, both now, but also later. Here are 7 tips to help you strive for great health during pregnancy...
1. Eat smaller meals more often.
This will help avoid having a full, uncomfortable feeling that often happens due to reduced room for your stomach! It will also assist in eating healthy foods, rather than big meals and unhealthy snacks in between when hunger strikes.
2. Don't skip breakfast!
It is the most important meal of the day and it is not recommended you miss it, especially if you are pregnant. Your body needs this energy to kick start for the day.
3. Drink 10 glasses of water a day!
It can be hard to get through 10 glasses, so add lemon to the water for something different. To drink water is of vital importance to your health and if you drink the recommended amount it will prevent you from getting many ailments - even cellulite!
4. Get lots of fresh air!
I am sure we all understand the benefits from this one. There is nothing better than a deep breath of fresh air and, if possible, the warmth of the sun on our faces. Relax and soak it up - it is good for you!
5. Be ready with healthy alternatives when hunger strikes!
Make it easier to snack on fresh fruit and vegetables rather than cakes, biscuits or lollies. Often the desire to eat actually is an indication you need to drink, so go first for a glass of water!
6. Get as much sleep as you can!
If you can, have nanny naps or at least ensure you get a good night at night. As your belly gets bigger, you might find it difficult to get comfortable. Try using pillows or something to aid your comfort so you can make the most of this time. Soon you will have night feeding and day time routines to work around and it will be much more difficult to get your sleep. You are using lots of energy to make your baby, so you are allowed to sleep a lot. Turn your phone off and indulge!!
7. Exercise!
As much as sleep and relaxing is important, so is exercise during pregnancy. Try to do some kind of physical activity that is recommended for pregnant ladies at least two to three times a week. Swimming and walking is great, combined with stretches and floor exercises that focus on the core and pelvic floor muscles.
When you look at this list it doesn't seem too bad, does it? You can manage that, can't you? I hope you do, because your health during pregnancy is of vital importance to how well you cope during delivery and how quickly you recover both mentally and physically afterwards.
